If there's something I love is a simple one skillet recipe, mainly because of the flavor and the fact that you have less mess to clean. Double win! This Biltong Mediterranean Skillet has it all; cheesiness, comfort, nutrients and flavor!
No matter the occasion, this recipe is perfect for it. It legit took me like 15 minutes or less to prepare plus only 30 minutes in the oven... no need to ask more when it comes a minimal mess recipe that also feeds a crowd.
For this recipe I wanted to include some biltong, and if you are not familiar with biltong then you are up to a treat. What it is is a high quality steak that has been air-dried and to the bite it's softer than jerky. It's just so good! You have to try it.
A low carb, comforting and gluten free CHEESY skillet, are using mozzarella, you can also use Panela Mexican cheese too! This is adds a great flavor to this recipe plus some vitamin D, and calcium from the cheese, double win!
The key to a delicious skillet is of course the ingredients, and the preparation! Who doesn't love a good comforting meal, right?
Well, besides the cheese and biltong we are adding some tzatziki sauce to keep things saucy and with that touch of mediterranean! Plus we are adding our seasonings as well along with some colorful veggies too.
A biltong is great protein option to add into your lifestyle! As a nutritionist I know that healthy eating should be sustainable and convenient without sacrificing any taste. Biltong is just a great source of protein, vitamin B12 that's is essential for healthy blood and red cells. Also naturally low in fat.

Check for your ingredients! I believe that it's so important to get quality ingredients no matter what type of lifestyle you follow or live by. When it comes to animal products I recommend getting grass-fed and pastured raised whenever it's possible; that also means that animals were more likely to be treated better.
For the biltong I used the brand Stryve that you can get on Amazon. And the ingredients here are simple and their biltong is fire, AKA, delicious!
Biltong
Mozzarella
Tzatziki Sauce
Red Onion
Mushrooms
Bell Pepper
Broccoli
Black Pepper
Real Salt
Garlic
This is a nutrient dense scone! High quality protein, no additives, artificial ingredients. All simple and wholesome ingredients, this skillet are just perfect as a dinner or lunch? Pair this with some paleo garlic bread and YUM!
And for spices, adding real salt, pepper and garlic really amps up any taste and aroma to the recipes; a must and another sneaky way to get some micronutrients such as minerals from the sea salt.
