Keto Chocolate Mint Cookie Dough (Marvelous Calm: CBD Mints Review)

Life always pops with a new surprise, that's for sure! And something that I learned this year is that we don't have the control of every situation (I know it can be hard to accept sometimes!) but there are a few things we can control, for example, our reaction.

Our bodies are way too smart to change their physiology (their natural way of functioning) according the environment, diet and feelings. And when it comes to reaching a certain health goal or even a professional goal it's important to consider our mental and physical health!

For example, when we are stressed and anxious our bodies change the way they work to prioritize running away from any danger, that's when our sympathetic system is active.

When our sympathetic system is on high alert some of these things happen:

  • Reduces the activity of our digestive organs, pancreas and gallbladder.

  • Our bodies begin to release adrenaline and noradrenaline.

This matters. Because as we know by now, around 60-80% of our immune system is in our gut, plus we absorb our nutrients there. Gut health goes beyond digestion but also to our immune system and mental health because it has been also considered as our second brain.

Serotonin is converted in our guts!

That's our happy hormone and it also plays a role in our nutrition for two main reasons (Check out this study here about serotonin):

  1. It regulates our appetite by causing that sensation of satiety.

  2. It controls our emotions.

So as you can see nutrition and mental health come together! Taking care of our bodies from the inside out, plus healthy habits help keeping those healthy habits.

How to manage stress and anxiety?

  1. Eat nourishing foods

  2. Eat a pre and probiotic rich diet!

  3. Try CBD (Been loving these CBD Mint Lozenges)

  4. Meditate

  5. Exercise

Let's talk about CBD!

This has been getting more popular lately and we usually find them in their tincture form, gummies and the newest for me... mints! Which compared to gummies these are better in sugar terms!

I have been trying these ones from Marvelous Calm for a fun twist and have been loving them! They have a nice and fresh minty flavor. I have been taking two capsules under my tongue daily, and don't worry they don't contain THC.

Use the code: "PURELYHEALTHY” for 10% off your order! I have been taking two of these daily, under my tongue. They dissolve very quickly and they have a nice and refreshing mint taste.

There has also been studies that show that CBD acts on the serotonin receptors, causing a reduction in anxiety. You can have a deeper dive into the science in this study.

My experience with these mints has actually really nice! I have been using CBD for a while now, but I have been using tinctures. For some people, my dad, for example finds the tincture to have terrible taste so if you have the same struggle these mints are a great way to still enjoy the CBD experience.

I took them at night but if you struggle with anxiety throughout the day you can have one mint in the morning and a second one in before sleep. That has also been working for me!

To make things even easier when it comes to consuming CBD recipes also are great! Adding them to recipes so you don't forget! In this case I created this simple Keto Chocolate Mint Cookie Dough using two of these Marvelous Calm CBD Mint Lozenges.

Simple, quick and delicious recipe!

  • Plant based protein (I use this)

  • Love carb mint chocolate chips

  • Flaxseed

  • Sugar free chocolate bar

  • Granulated monk fruit

This makes a great snack since it has plenty of protein that will keep you calm and fueled for hours! And you just need to mix the ingredients, easy method for the win!

With love,

Maria
