The Delicious Side of AIP (Autoimmune Protocol)

"Let thy be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." That's one of the most famous quotes of Hippocrates, and I couldn't agree more! Food is not just food; it's energy, feelings, art, medicine, a way to gather people. And as human beings we are so different and prone to different conditions since our DNA is so unique.

Food has the power to express specific genes, or maybe to turn them off! That's what we call now a days epigenetic. These expressions are also modulated by our environment, so living the way we live can have a huge impact in our bodies and not to mention our future kids.

Making healthy food for YOUR body and enjoy every bite is the main purpose of this blog, instagram account and not to mention why I choose to study nutrition. I also have to mention that I'm a busy student and health is my priority.

How does a busy person can make health a priority?!

Well, yes! it's possible. Even with a busy school schedule like mine it's possible. Either is meal prep or having the help of someone I always have something nourishing to eat eveyday, and I've got a little secret for you today!

How does AIP meals in the step of your door sound for you?

AIP stands for autoimmune protocol, a special way of eating to reduce inflammation since they include foods that help reset our immune system. We all prone to inflammation and with a busy and sometimes stressful life this is AN INCREDBLE option.

Paleo On The Go offers this amazing service and let me tell you my honest thoughts: It's the BEST! Everything is exquisite, and so different! You won't ever tell how good this food is for your body! Every meal can knock down every green smoothie or green juice down to the floor!

I tried a lot of their dishes and WE are a huge fan! By "we" I mean all of my picky family, we devoured every dish. They offer for every single taste;

- Paleo

- Keto

- No Sugar

- Vegetarian

- Bakery

Picking a favorite is going to be hard but I have to say that the Bison Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy and Onion Confit Cauliflower Mash was one of my top! Followed by a delicious Cream of Broccoli Soup! My family and I really enjoyed the Pesto Zucchini Noodles with Wild-Caught Shrimp too!

I love this as a restaurant alternative too. I struggle sometimes choosing something that I like on the menu or I have to make some modifications. The best thing about Paleo On The Go is no only the amazing meal but also de service. It's convenient for me to have something ready and just ready to heat up once I get back from school.

My quick easy survival guide for a busy week ahead:

2. Order your favorite meals.

3. Get in on the step of your door.

4. Heat the dishes.

5. Be happy!

And they also have amazing AIP desserts that I'm not even kidding when I say they are at a whole new level; Snickerdoodles and the Apple Cinnamon Paleo Tarts were AMAZING! These are perfect for having ready on the freezer you just need to heat them up a couple of minutes in the mini oven and DONE!

I am honestly very very satisfied with this service and my tastebuds think the same way about the dishes. There's nothing like nourishing your body with incredibly delicious foods! Getting them bye the step of your door is just way to good to be truth.

Ways I use Paleo On The Go:

- When I have a busy week ahead

- Planning a romantic dinner at home

- Sharing with friends and family delicious treats

- I just love it, no need of an specific reason

Here's my review for some of the things I tried from Paleo On The Go:

The Cream Of Broccoli was THE DREAM! It's the perfect comfort food for any day, weather or situation. The creaminess is unreal you guys! And I love that it also had a few pieces of broccoli left!

The Bison Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy and Onion Confit Cauliflower Mash, one of my favorites! It was also the first time trying bison meat, and let me tell you, this was INSANE. It only took one bite for me to love this. The creamy cauliflower mash was the best one I have ever tried too!

If you like seafood the Pesto Zucchini Noodles with Wild-Caught Shrimp it's a must try! I actually never thought about combining pesto and shrimps... SIMPLY GENIUS. This was one of my family favorites, it didn't last that long before it was all over.

The Turkey Tetrazzini for all my Italian food lovers is a MUST TRY! It has a lovely touch of bacon and loved the coconut based cream over the spaghetti squash. This was veggie loaded, and of course, loaded in all the flavor!

Mojo Chicken Empanada, this is funny, I was actually looking for a good paleo empanada recipe but saw this in the menu and had to give it a try! So glad I did, every bite was amazing!

Don't get me stared on the POTG Pizza Pocket because I will start drooling... AGAIN! The name says it all, and being paleo makes it even better, the cheese is made based on coconut milk and nutritional yeast... no dairy!

The Homemade Chicken Pot Pie was as heart-warming as if it was made from my own mother, maybe, even better than my mothers (sorry mom! It was unbelievable!), perfect for cold or rainy days!

The Apple Cinnamon Paleo Tarts... do I really need to describe them? Okay, the filling was simply perfect, I wasn't expecting how rich the flavor was, although they have a little bit of more sugar that I wanted it's still decent! Totally worth it! Plus it's important to mention that it comes from coconut sugar, which has a lower glycemic index.

Last but not least, Snickerdoodles! They were SO GOOD! My family really enjoyed them, since we are all cookie monsters these were the hit! So soft and chewy without all the inflammatory ingredient from a regular store-bought cookie. WIN WIN!

As you can see, these were all delicious. I'm giving my honest thoughts here! I have to say that that being Paleo and AIP friendly seas my mind knowing that my body is getting good food since I can be stressed by school, I don't want to increase the inflammation caused by it.

Paleo or AIP meals are for any body! We are living in a busy and hectic world, giving our bodies a break from inflammatory foods is giving ourselves a break and some love back to our bodies that work hard every single day. I encourage you to give your body some love and try Paleo On The Go, seriously, worth every single penny.

Have a wonderful week!

Love,

Maria.
