Almond Chocolate Chip Creamy Pies (Low Carb & Vegan)

It's another recipe day here! Currently sitting in the university library writing and dreaming about these creamy pies... this student life is hard sometimes. Been here for 8 hours and all I want is to take of my make up, change into comfy clothes and have some of those pies. THE DREAM after a long busy day!

As an nutrition student, recipe developer and wellness blogger I can say that food is not just food! Food should be nourishing and enjoyable. My recipes are all about that, I won't let you down.

In the case of desserts goes the same way, low carb, gluten free, dairy free and all the flavor. It's important for me to keep them low sugar or use safe sugar substitutes such as monk fruit or erithrytol. Sugar (glucose) interacts with our reward circuit which causes an over stimulation of dopamine action when it's constantly consumed. This can cause an alteration of the gene expression of dopamine receptors. Sugar has been shown in so many studies to be addictive, as addictive as other harmful drugs.

So that's one of the main reasons I keep my recipes low in sugar and low carb, and I can guarantee you that they are super flavorful!

In this recipe I used one of my favorite low carb and vegan protein powders, they add to much volume and taste to recipes! Definitely a must try and a must have in my pantry.

Also used my favorite grass-fed ghee! Source of short-chain fatty acids such as butyric acid, helpful your liver to do his job detoxing, and in this case I use Turmeric and Lions Mane ghee for a little extra goodness to it!
