Honey Sriracha Biscuits
By María Fernanda López
Serves 8
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups of organic flour
1/2 cup of cold butter
3/4 cup of cold whole milk
1 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of ground garlic
1/2 tsp of ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp of kosher salt
2 tbsp of dried green onions
1/4 cup of Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha (for the dough)
Toppings:
4 tbsp of Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha
1 tsp of dried green onions
1 tbsp of red pepper flakes
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
In a medium bowl, mix the flour, kosher salt, baking soda, ground ginger, dried green onions, garlic powder, and baking powder.
Grate the cold butter over the dry ingredients. Stir gently, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
In a separate bowl, combine the cold milk and Honey Sriracha, then pour over the dry ingredients. Using your hands, mix until a crumbly dough forms.
On a floured surface, gently knead the dough, folding it over several times (4-5 times) without flattening it completely.
Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut out 8 biscuits using a glass or biscuit cutter. Transfer them to a baking tray.
Brush the tops of the biscuits with egg wash and bake for 13 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve the biscuits warm, garnished with extra Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha, dried green onions, and red pepper flakes for an added kick. Enjoy!
