Ahi Tuna Chicharrón (Keto & Whole 30)

Welcome again to another seafood inspired meal! You are going to love this one, because it's fun, easy to make and flavorful. Meet my Ahi Tuna Chicharrón, in other words, Ahi Tuna Rinds or crispy and crusted ahi tuna that your taste buds will love!

I'm a huge fan of ahi tuna and pork rinds, the flavor of ahi tuna is just amazing and if you haven't tried it extra crispy you might be start getting ready to go and get some because it's just so good and addicting!

I have been air frying fish for as long as I remember, well, since I got my air fryer back in 2018 but just know I came out with the inspiration of making a crispy ahi tuna recipe, or ahi tuna chicharrón (well known in México).

The easiest Ahi Tuna Chicharrón:

This recipe is super super easy to make and it took me just a few minutes to prepare, get ready your ingredients and preheat your oven! You can make these crispy tuna bites or chicharrones in your air fryer or in your oven.

This recipe is perfect as a side dish at a party, for lunch, for a protein source at dinner or even as a snack since it's so filling and great to prepare in batches. This recipe is also whole 30; that means that it's gluten and dairy free, and no sugar or inflammatory oils, this recipe is also keto!

The Ingredients for this Ahi Tuna Chicharrón:

  • Ahi Tuna Steaks

  • Eggs

  • Pork Panko*

  • Sea salt

  • Chipotle Powder

  • Black Pepper

  • Garlic powder

As you can see the ingredients are pretty basic! And trust me, this is good because this recipe is addicting. I used pork panko to coat the tuna cubes, adds extra crispness and flavor in my perspective, plus it's very easy to use. But you can use almond flour in you want to.

Air fryer or not, the crispness will be there!

For this recipe I used my air fryer but you can also use your oven, if it has the option to "roast" use that setting of your oven and voila! In the instructions for both methods are actually the same.

I have a oven air fryer and a regular air fryer; for this recipe I used the oven one, for this recipe I simply set it up in 350F for 23 minutes. In my regular air fryer I tend to use more time though. Check out the timing and temperature, you can constantly check how crispy it looks from time to time while it cooks but it tuna is a very noble meat to cook, it's very quick.

The full list of ingredients, along with the instructions and substitutions will be below! This is a very versatile recipe!

Anyways, this is a crowd pleaser! Kids and adults will love this recipe and I hope you do too since it's not only super easy and mostly mess free but it's also delicious! A fancy but extremely easy recipe, hard to miss this!

Overall this recipe is:

  • Keto

  • Paleo

  • Whole 30

  • Gluten and Grain Free

  • Meal Prep Friendly

  • Kid friendly

  • Delicious!

The Final Result:

Crispy, addicting and perfect to enjoy as a side dish, on your lunch boxes and even a snack for your little ones. You can pair them with some sauce or salsa to take it to the next level. I used some buffalo sauce and WOW, it was on fire!

These are perfect to cook in batches, specially if you use your oven. You can place them in a glass container to have them ready to be devoured at any time or point of the week. It took me less than 30 minutes to prepare so that's a major win when it comes to recipes!

Sharing is Caring!

So let's start cooking, a simple and fail proof recipe to nourish that body and still enjoy those amazing leftovers! Also, remember that sharing is caring so please share this link with your loved ones, cooking buddies, pin, save or bookmark this recipe!

With love,

María
