This recipe is perfect no matter the occasion but I wanted to add a little fun twist by using some miso spread, sesame and red limo red pepper sauce... can't get enough!

Spicy Sesame Crusted Fish Sub

Serves 2


For the Fish

  • 1 large piece of tilapia fish

  • 1 tsp of garlic

  • 1/8 tsp of black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp of sea salt

  • 1 tbsp of sesame seeds

  • 1 tbsp of Red Limo Pepper Sauce

For the Sub

  • 2 gluten-free sub roll (used Canyon Bakehouse)

  • 3 tbsp of dairy-free yogurt

  • 2 tsp of miso paste

  • 4 leaves of lettuce

  • 1/4 cup of cooked sliced mushrooms

  • 1/4 cup of roasted red onion


  1. Slice the tilapia in half, widely. Add the seasonings.

  2. Spread over the sauce and top with sesame seeds.

  3. Air fry for 22 minutes at 350F.

  4. Mix the yogurt with miso paste.

  5. Slice the rub rolls in half.

  6. Spread the yogurt mix inside the rolls, stuff them with lettuce, mushrooms, tilapia and red onion.

  7. Enjoy!
